                  BACKGROUND OF DAN WILLIAMS

Born: January 30, 1956  Raised in southern New Jersey. Started working at around age 8 helping my Dad, along with my three brothers, in a family-run tree business. My Mom and sister, oldest of my siblings, took care of home. Brought up in good, country, non-denominational churches- when there was a meetin', we were there. That's where my Christian life started at around age seven. My parents put all five of us kids through Christian school, which I value and treasure. My first few jobs after graduating from high school were mostly manual labor jobs:

>>>Maintenance Man- McDonald's Hamburgers, Mt. Ephraim, NJ '74-'75 Overall clean-up inside and outside the store. Special maintenance of the fry bins, carbonation tanks, roof-top A/C filters, and inventory.

>>>
Porter/Custodian- An apartment complex in Woodbury, NJ; a department store in Marlton, NJ; a new car dealership in Berlin, NJ; during this time, I had Driving Jobs with a leasing company in West Chester, PA, running cars & vans along the east coast, with POA to make title changes, etc.; a bus company in Berlin, NJ, running develomentally challenged and disciplinary case children locally; and a manufacturer in Hammonton, NJ, running nation-wide.

>>>
Baker for a french pastry plant in Pennsauken, NJ; Assemblyman for a high-end leather attache case factory in Berlin, NJ; Delivery person for Dominoes Pizza, and Li'l Ceasers Pizza.

>>>
I was a machine operator for two and a half years at the Christian Beacon Press in Collingswood, NJ. This is where I finally found a trade that really interested me. I ran folding machines, cutting machines and manual binding machines, an antique mail inserting machine, tying machines, and processed mailings handling postage moneys and made bulk deliveries to the regional post office distribution center.

>>>
On relocating to Lancaster County, PA, I began working for a large church with a K-12 private school. The Worship Center in Lancaster, PA from 12/85 to 5/95,was where I found my "niche". I started there split between a Custodial job two days a week and in the printing Department three days a week. Within a year I had moved into being their sole full-time, in-house Printer for about nine and a half years or so. I served over thirty different departments, missionary projects, and half a dozen daughter churches. It was a full-service position: from pre-press design and layout, to multi-color printing, to various binding finishes- tablets, staple book binding, and perfect binding. It was during this time that I bought my first house of 960+- sq. ft. and resided there in Lancaster, PA for a few years.

>>>
Feeling a pull toward more entrepreneurial ventures, in 1995, I got interested in real estate investing, and also ventured into sales with "knock-off perfumes and colognes", as well as with a basement waterproofing company. I had a car accident that injured my lower back (not the first time); and was unemployable for quite some time. Needing money, I worked (mostly volunteered my time) in an upstart Copy-Printing Service for almost a year (just to keep my duplication skills honed). But with no income, I decided to move to FL where I might be of some help to my parents, and they to me, since my recovery from the accident was having extenuating repercussions of further disabilities such as finally foreclosing on my house.

>>>
My move to FL lasted about twelve years, eleven of which were assisting my parents, and they mutually helping me. I did work a short time for another printing company there, drove through two counties delivering community college class schedule tabloids, but as I was unable to land a steady full-time job, due to the back injuries, they financed me to start my own lawnmowing service. Such work in the Florida sun while still recuperating from the accident injuries, was very unpleasant due to the excrutiating pain; but necessity dictated such activity, which lasted about eleven of the twelve years!

>>>
I have been involved with internal environmental technology for a few years now, and am currently in pursuit, once again, with real estate investing, and building this website, as you see it today.

I just want it known- my Dad passed away on 9/27/05, @ 6:35 a.m. and my Mom passed away 8/25/09, 4:20 am. I was her caregiver for the last 4 yrs. of her life. I was beside her, heard and saw her last breath. Then the good Lord took His own yellow rose (her favorite flower) to add to a special bouquet. The effect of Mom's passing contributed to me having a stroke on 9/21/09. I've lost a little mobility on my left side, but not enough to keep me from walking, and doing what I've always done, I just won't be able to play volleyball like I used to years ago at that Worship Center Staff Picnic. Oh yeah, my (short-term) memory has been effected, but really I'm ok. sorta, like, kinda.  AS OF LATE- most of 2015 and all of 2016 so far, predominately my left side is getting "worster" (as Rosa and I say jokingly, sorta kinda) and my lower back, too causin' me to slow down some.  But I'm still O.K., sorta kinda.  Just takin' it easier as I can.

>>>I'm currently residing in Banner Elk, NC- since @ 6/2/12. Prior to that, I was in Sparta, N.C. for about a year, where I surprisingly met my long-in-time wife, Rosa, over a Christian dating service on the internet! Prior to that, I was staying with my brother and sister-in-law for eight months out in the Bentley / Sedgwick, KS area- after moving there from the hospital in FL, when I had no where to go! The time there, facing the reality of having debillitating effects from the stroke while walking a lot in those days, travelling on foot sixteen and fourteen miles a day to get to nearby towns so I could work on updating my websites, was quite distorting, but as well as beneficial in rehabilitation. Then, purchasing a Chevy van got me here, which sure is an advantage to walking, in some ways.  Rosa and I get to walkin' a little here, and want to increase that, as we can.

>>>I'll also briefly mention I have taken courses in Travel Agent, Locksmith (Certified in both), Creative Real Estate Investing, Computer Repair; and I do have interest and have had involvement in Pro-life concerns!

Nov. 24, 2011 around 7:00 p.m. was quite another happy turning point in my life- I married ROSA JEAN HICKS and she married me, DANIEL PAUL WILLIAMS.  More info. can be found ...facebook.com/drwhug
Nov. 24, 2016 - THIS COMING NOVEMBER Rosa and I will be celebrating five years of wedded blessing! Rosa is a precious, Christian Appalachian mountain girl, born and raised here.  Before moving to North Carolina, I had a "hankerin'" to move into the mountains, (not ever imagining to ever live in the flat lands of Kansas, but was there a total of about two years), which I love, seeing the natural, GOD-inspired beauty that I had only driven through previously several times...but I wanted to call it "home" (on this earth).  While living in Sparta, NC I was seeking a future wife on a few "Christian" online dating services.

CDFF.COM  (Christian Dating For Free) was the site where the good Lord found me Rosa.  From August of 2011 to October of that same year.  Since my stroke is effecting my memory, I forget, or don't remember specifics very well, but Rosa keeps a very good diary of such important things, so anyway, we "phone dated" for a few months, I finally actually met her for the first time at her church on a Sunday morning. Now, two people, Christians, never married, she 50 years old, me 55; she with eye sight problems (night blindness and other) can't drive, I drive her to work at the Appalachian State University Bookstore where she has held a part-time, on-call job there for about 25 years; neither of us are "well off", but certainly we have the most important certainty of our reservations to Heaven when we die.  (More about that later.)

Rosa and I reside in a small 8' x 35' travel trailer on a corner of her family's 10 acres...we have electric, but no water hooked up yet.  AS OF MARCH 2015, over a year ago from this March 2016, GOD has blessed us with an addition with new roof over our leaky trailer in the kitchen and the new "living room" addition of 12' by 35'.  No more leaks in the trailer, lots of room now for a variety of living.  (Although we got it filled well with furniture and other useful "apperatis" (been a long time of using that word.)  Gordon, Rosa's brother, built us a wooden deck first, and then built on it the new room we live in now.  Like Dad, Gordon is very multi-talented and builds buildings (two barns and sheds, our addition; he takes care of repairs on our and his vehicles, electric from his house to our's, the septic system in our place, plumbing (maybe, if he can at the time...he's 73 years old, still "kicking like a mule", very active for his age (GOD bless him) and very patient, understanding.  He, and Ronda, are very good brothers to their sister!!!  I try to help with mowing and trimming his yard, and what I can do.  Taking Rosa to work (part-time and on-call when she is needed at the Appalacian State University Bookstore) and driving her around (since due to her night blindness, and other sight problems she can't drive) I drive around when needed.

We live right across the road from her two brothers, Gordon and Ronda; where we use their facilities and carry our drinking and flushing waters.  A little ways down that road was her sister, Eva, who was the oldest of five children, and who passed away Mother's Day, 2014; while her oldest brother Benny, passed away earlier 2014.  Both Rosa's parents have passed away, like mine. (Back in the nineties, I think.)  Here in these parts, are a mix of the very wealthy, as well as the not-so-wealthy. But Rosa's family hold to a very strong ethic of "above board family heritage pride" unlike I have never known before.  What you see and get to know is what you get!  Rosa's parent's names are: Floyd and Dorcy. Floyd's brother, Ray, was a Master Story Teller, and his wife, Rosie, are both passed away now. The house of Ray & Rosie Hicks is about one hundred years old- a landmark of a timepiece where Ray and Rosie hosted many story-telling gatherings in their day. The house has been the focus of many photographers, both professional, and amateur alike.  It has been the scene of puzzle manufacturers entitled RAY'S MOON; and sets a panoramic view of their lifestyle- never having enough income to maintain the property, so it sits weather-beaten and forlorn, but a home with many favorite stories and fond memories, and an atmosphere of almost reverence for a time period lost by the wayside of modern "progress" all around it.

The mile-high tourist attraction of Beech Mountain, is a skiing resort near the little historic town of Banner Elk, which also is the home of the Lees-McRae College.  Boone, NC is about 20 miles away, and is the prominent, thriving home of ASU with 20,000+- students.  Nearby is Blowing Rock, famous for a rock formation jutting into the air with the same name as the town near its location.  Just driving around the mountains is a beautiful experience in itself...especially with my precious wife, Rosa.  We are surrounded by modern influence permeating the historic, proud and "backwoods" mountain heritage I'm pleased to call "home" for now, but Time- whether modern or historic, brings together a multitude of character, variety, concerns, and future friendships- making a community of neighbors all in the same "big valley".

NOVEMBER 24 THIS YEAR WILL BE OUR 5th YEAR ANNIVERSARY...EVEN COOLER IS THIS YEAR, OUR 5th YEAR ANNIVERSARY FALLS ON A THURSDAY, JUST AS THE VERY DAY WE WERE MARRIED, AROUND 7 OCLOCK THAT EVENING.  WE'LL DO SOMETHING REAL SPECIAL!!!
dwomp- it's a sound in time, a sound of uniqueness, a sound contemplation for anyone seeking specific information although it might just be a haphazard exploratory for that one thing to help matters improve...speci-fic but even so unknown at the mom-ent until it becomes evident that you have been coming to it all along- and then it's there... right in front of you.
